Although we’re still nowhere close to begin decorating for Christmas, I can’t keep my eyes off Pinterest during the short moments of internet tranquility I get in the evenings. We’re hoping real hard to move into the main house in one to two weeks (we’re currently living in the barn side of the house) and FINALLY put up our lovely flocked Christmas tree.
While I love Christmas decorations a ton, I’m not exactly a fan of the crazy red, green and gold extravaganza of American style Christmas decor. I prefer a more simple, a more calm approach. So here’s my list of 7 Simple & Cheap Ways to Decorate for Christmas! Enjoy – HOHOHO!!
ONE | I absolutely love this one. All you need is a twig of a pine and a vase. If you can spare the extra minute, add a candle and a few ornaments.
TWO | If you like to see a bit of Christmas cheer in the bedroom, hang a simple wreath over the bed! Instant joyfulness!
THREE | Here we have two simple ways to decorate for Christmas. We have the black paper star – a stylish solution to prep for the Holidays. Second, we have this gorgeous and super versatile candle holder by House Doctor (they also have it in gold, copper and a similar one in black!! Christmas present anyone??) Easily decorate it with some pine cuttings and voila!
FOUR | Next let’s talk about the house exterior. Give your house some cheer by putting up a large lantern and plop a Christmas tree into a large basket. If you’re kinda lazy, get some timered faux candles that turn on by themselves! Plus you never have to worry about a fire 🙂
FIVE | Lanterns in general are a great idea for decorating the outside. Add some cuttings, some pinecones, maybe a little moss and you have your own little woodland fairytale…
SIX | During the winter months it’s difficult to come by some real nice flowers. That’s why I love the tradition of growing bulbs indoors. Plant them early enough so they bloom during Christmas! My favorites are Paperwhites and Hyacinths!
SEVEN | Lastly, a small & humble wreath makes any piece of furniture look super festive. It’s all in the details 🙂
